Our company was founded in 1928 by Gotthard Knödlseder senior as a hammer forge in Hauzenberg.

Herbert Knödlseder

1948

In 1948, the current senior managing director, Herbert Knödlseder, joined his father’s company and deepened the always very cooperative relationship with the local construction companies and the surrounding granite quarries.

Natural stone industry

Mid-1950s

In the middle of the 50’s further business fields were developed in the East Bavarian and Upper Austrian natural stone industry.

Company Krupp, Essen

1962 & 1964

The distribution warehouse for Widia tools, from the Krupp company, was taken over for Eastern Bavaria and Austria. As well as their distribution of pneumatic tools. The sale and rental of mobile and stationary compressors rounded off our business area.

Gotthard Knödlseder

1977

In 1977 the third generation, Gotthard Knödlseder, joined the company. He focused on Austrian companies in special foundation drilling, tunneling and well drilling and promoted continued the company’s consistently expanding course.

Move to Jahrdorf

1987

The new head quarter in Jahrdorf/Hauzenberg was completed in 1987.

Company foundation in Czech Republic

1999

The establishment of the company GK BOHRTECH s.r.o. in the Czech Republic with its current headquarters in Strakonice has considerably facilitated trade in Eastern Europe, especially before EU accession.

Extension of a new warehouse

2012

Due to our constantly growing assortment, an additional warehouse was built. This enables us to have a large stock of tools and accessories for the natural stone, construction and special civil engineering industries

Company foundation in Switzerland

2019

The company Gotthard Knödlseder Bohrtechnik AG was founded in Obernau in order to offer our customers from Switzerland a faster and better service.
