Double-head system for ground-source heat exchanger boreholes, with independently rotating and axially adjustable drill strings. Casing supports overburden and disturbed zones; drilling then continues with the inner string. DTH hammers, rotary bits or roller-cone bits suit different formations. A rotary discharge preventer directs flushing returns and cuttings.
